Before applying the KTML4 control for the first time on a new web site, there are some global settings that must be configured. If you skip this section, and do not properly configure the third party libraries that KTML uses, you will have to renounce to:
Advanced image manipulation functions - image editing in the editor will not function
Spellcheck
XHTML compliance - if you do not set the library for this function, you must disable view and save as XHTML properties, or KTML will not work properly.
These settings can be visually configured from within Dreamweaver, and are located inside the InterAKT Control Panel. To access the InterAKT Control Panel, go to the MX Kollection tab of the Insert bar and click on the computer icon:
The dialog box that loads has several options, which allow you to:
Change the way dates are displayed - Date formats.
Keep your site files up to date - Update includes folder.
Configure third party server libraries - Required server libraries. (described below)
Change the site look - CSS skins.
Change the way database information and user interface settings are cached - User interface persistence and database caching.
Check for new versions of your installed extensions - Product upgrades.
To configure KTML's third party
libraries, access the Required server
libraries section:
The user interface allows defining the paths to the server library executable. Configure it as follows:
In the Preferred library drop-down menu select the image library you want to use for editing. The list depends on the server model you are using.
In the Library path text box enter the server path to the library executable. If the selected library is bundled with the application server (e.g. GD2), the text box is disabled.
In the Tidy text box enter the path to the HTML Tidy library. It must be installed on the server.
In the Spell checker
text box enter the path on the server to the aspell
library.
After configuring all paths, click OK
to close the user interface and apply the changes.
