Anyone any ideas how to get the editable dropdown to work in IE9 and Chrome?

You cant type anything into the field
The "add to database" button disappears in both cases and
In IE9 you cant select anything using the mouse. You have to scroll with the keyboard and press enter to select. You cant scroll past the initial, lets say 10 records.

dude, you took a weight off my back! I thought it was stupid and did not know how to use this form control. By the way, you could solve this problem?

No I didn't get it fixed I opted to use a jquery search input field with an add button that pop up a modal window where I can enter a new record instead.
This was a better option in my case because I eventually added some additional info associated with the record.
